How to learn words, stay consistent, work on pronunciation and avoid quitting after the first month.
The Learning Tips category holds the methodology side of the blog: how memory works, why some words stay forever while others vanish in a week, and what to do with motivation once the first enthusiasm fades. These are universal materials — equally useful to a parent teaching a child and to an adult learner.
Most articles rest on three mechanisms: spaced repetition, active recall and context. A word you translated once in a list has almost no chance of sticking. A word you recalled yourself after a day, after three days and after a week — inside a full phrase — stays for a long time. I show how to build those mechanisms into an ordinary day without special apps.
The second big theme is consistency. A language does not need heroic three-hour sessions every other week; it needs short, frequent contact. The articles break down formats that work: fifteen minutes in the morning, audio on the commute, one page of reading before bed, and one speaking lesson a week as the anchor of the whole system.
I also write about the classic mistakes: perfectionism, trying to finish grammar before the first conversation, endlessly switching textbooks, and judging progress by feeling instead of facts. The first posts arrive shortly.
